Our School recognises that professional education is a valuable investment in the future, contributing enormously both to personal career development and to global economic growth. To help our existing or prospective students start and advance their careers in finance or tax law, the LSFL Financial Education for the Future Foundation, which was established in 2020, offers various grants towards LSFL tuition fees and research.
Tuition Fee Funding
Merit-Based Grants
Students studying with LSFL towards an international qualification in accountancy (ACCA or CIMA) or in investment management (CFA) can obtain a 20% discount for their tuition fees in the 2nd, 3rd and any further academic year if they pass their previous LSFL module with merit or distinction (gaining a final mark of more than 70%).
Students studying with LSFL towards an international qualification in investment management (IMC) or financial planning (IAD) can obtain a 20% discount for their tuition fees for each next module if they pass their previous LSFL module with merit or distinction (gaining a final mark of more than 70%).
Need-Based Grants
Need-based grants covering 30% of LSFL tuition fees for any course are awarded to students with lower household income.
Grants covering 100% of LSFL tuition fees for any course are awarded to students who are destitute or are at risk of imminent destitution, for example, as a result of unemployment.
LSFL Regional Support Fund Grants
The LSFL Regional Support Fund awards grants covering 30% of LSFL tuition fees for any course to students from low-income countries (i.e. to residents of countries with a gross national income of less than $15,000 as defined by the World Bank).
LSFL Equal Access to Education Fund Grants
The LSFL Equal Access to Education Fund awards grants covering 20% of LSFL tuition fees for any course to students without any previous UK qualifications or their equivalents overseas (e.g. an entry-level qualification or a Level 1-8 qualification).
Our School is also committed to a diverse representation of students, especially those from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities and other under-represented groups, who can receive grants covering 20% of LSFL tuition fees for any course.
LSFL Youth Mobility Fund Grants
The LSFL Youth Mobility Fund awards grants covering 100% of LSFL tuition fees to vulnerable young people who cannot afford to pay for their professional education because of different negative circumstances they have happened to encounter in life – health issues, family estrangement, homelessness, refugee protection, being in local authority care or leaving care, etc.
Prospective students who are 16-20 years old can apply for funding from the LSFL Youth Mobility Fund. It would be helpful if you could submit supporting evidence (e.g. a letter from your social worker, teacher or doctor who knows your situation) but don’t worry if you cannot provide any documents during the application process – just explain your situation and self-certify.
LSFL Alumni Fund Grants
The LSFL Alumni Fund awards grants covering 20% of LSFL tuition fees for any course to LSFL alumni holding advanced diplomas or professional qualifications after completing 12-month or 18-month courses with us.
You can apply for this grant while still continuing studies towards your first advanced diploma or professional qualification with our School.
Grants for Student Ambassadors
You can inspire young people and professionals whilst representing and promoting our School. As a student ambassador, you will be responsible for a wide range of recruitment and aspiration-raising activities and events throughout the year, including recruitment-related publicity, sharing marketing information via blogs and social media posts, writing education-related articles for the School Blog, and answering prospective students’ queries.
Student ambassadors can obtain a 20% discount for their LSFL tuition fees. Applications from all LSFL students are very welcome, and we particularly welcome applicants from BAME groups to assist the School in recruiting students from under-represented groups worldwide.
Additional information about tuition funding
The grants are awarded towards your LSFL tuition fees and are paid directly to the School. The grants do not have to be repaid.
You can apply for one grant at a time. You will have to apply for a merit-based grant each term (if you study towards a one-year qualification) or each academic year (if you study towards ACCA, CIMA or CFA). You will have to apply for a need-based grant each academic year. You will need to apply for other grants only once.
Students who receive employer loans or sponsorships are not eligible for grants.
Tuition funding opportunities may be limited to a certain extent each year, and grants are awarded on a first come, first served basis. Therefore, we advise you apply for tuition funding well in advance – ideally, three or four months prior to your enrollment in an LSFL course.
Grant application deadlines:
For Term 1 (September start): 30 June
For Term 2 (January start): 31 October
For Term 3 (May start): 28 February
Late applications will be considered on a funds-available basis.
